The boy did not realize that her feelings were hurt and he continued to nag at her about multiple things she's done in her life to prove just this point. Situations like that need to be directed by a counselor or teacher at Anaheim schools because problems between young ladies and gentlemen arise with such negativity towards one another. Students need to be open-minded with one another instead of being so close-minded and bringing one another down all the time. The documentary “Mad Hot Ballroom” is a documentary that shows children interacting with one another and having no problems. “Everyone is so nice to me and they don't care that I come from a different country” (Agrelo). Students get along with one another whether their race or belief in religion. No child bullies one another for anything, no matter how they dance, what color they are, or what their own beliefs are. “I’m in the mood for family and dancing and school, but I'm not in the mood for boys, I'll be in the mood for boys when I'm older” (Agrelo). Being aware of the fact that boys are not an essential in life is a good start to continue to be successful and no one bullied the young lady that mentioned that. On the other hand, if she was interested in boys then communicating and interacting fairly well would be a possibility. “Studies have shown that some students learn better in a single-gender environment, particularly in math and science” (7). However, students can still distract one another in a single sex-ed classroom due to friends being in the same room as them. As an observation I’ve seen at Anaheim high school, students are in a mixed classroom yet boys and girls still choose to sit with their friends. Changing the environment through gender will not stop distractions, it will only allow them to continue. As the students grow older and mature some distractions may be resolved, but trying to resolve them by singling out gender is not the correct path. Student success comes through hard work and devotion to school, to teachers and to become better at succeeding on the right
