Mad Max was originally supposed to be filmed Broken Hill, New South Wales (Hildebrand) but was later changed to Namibia, Africa due to heavy rains in Broken Hill causing flowers to sprout, which wouldn't fit into the post-apocalyptic world of Mad Max (Hildebrand). This dedication to the realism and lore of the Mad Max world isn't just limited to the environment in which the movie takes place, but also to the props and cars. Each and every car in the movie was custom made for each character (which will be touched upon later on). The ideology behind each car goes hand-in-hand with the character that drives it, and is a reflection of character and was described as an "extension of the wardrobe of the characters " by George miller ("Behind the scenes - Cars: Mad Max: Fury Road"). An example of how the characters' cars reflect them is that of the Gigahorse and Immortant Joe. In the world of Mad Max, finding even just one of something is hard enough, but the Gigahorse, on the other hand, has two of everything: two engines, two frames, double exhausts on each size, and double the number of wheels.
