Terminator: Genisys: Film Analysis
“John Connor sends Kyle Reese back in time to protect Sarah Connor, but when he arrives in 1984, nothing is as he expected it to be.”
Before the start of the film I debated whether or not to make the trek to the concessions for some Popcorn, and I can now tell you that it was truly one of the best decisions of my entire life. Okay, maybe that’s overstating it a bit, but seriously, that’s the type of film this is. ‘Terminator: Genisys’ is the film equivalent of comfort food, it’s simple and fulfilling, but you feel guilty after consuming it. I’m not going to sing the praise of this film, a little bit because I can’t sing, but mostly because this isn’t a film that everyone needs to see.
I have an odd relationship with this film, it entertained me from start to finish, and at no point did it drag or feel grueling. Some might chock that up to good pacing, but I’d chock it up to lots and lots of brainless and inconsequential explosions. Let me be honest with you for a second, I secretly enjoy a lot of films because I know they’re bad, but that doesn’t make them any less enjoyable. This film is going to fit nicely into that collection of films I liked more than my brain tells me I should have. A lot of people are going to

Again, I hold no ill will against the guy, but this isn’t a role that complements him as a Thespian. One of the few good things about ‘Terminator Salvation’ was Christian Bale as John Connor. I don’t think Clarke has the grit to play the leader of the rebellion. I feel that might be why Jennifer Lawrence is kind of withering in the role of Katniss, she lacks the grit needed to appear as someone who can spark a fire that fuels a rebellion. And when Clarke turns into the robot-human hybrid, that’s when he starts to seem even more miscast. Clarke completely doesn’t sell that he’s a robot, I bought into it because of all the CGI surrounding his body, but performance-based alone, he’s not a

The film that I chose for this assignment is” I, Robot.” The film is set in the year 2035 in Chicago. The director is Alex Proyas and stars Will Smith and Bridget Monahan. What I will try to show is that in the near future robotic mechanisms will be able to have some sort of loyalty.…

For a long period of time, 24 frames per second was looked in the film industry as a standard. But with major advances in film technology in the most recent years, movies such as The Hobbit are one of the first to contain 48 frames per second. The result of this is a better and more clear visual quality in the film.…

Cinema is a set of landscapes accompanied by a story. However, landscapes tell a story of their own. They tell more than just the story, but the underlying thoughts behind the film. This can be seen in Blade Runner by Ridley Scott, THX 1138 by George Lucas, and Children of Men by Alfonso Cuaron, as the landscapes help develop the complexity of the story. The directors of these films use setting and landscape to express and contribute to the development of the main argument of each film.…

The documentary, Bigger, Stronger, Faster was made in 2008 and directed by Christopher Bell. The documentary focuses on how Christopher and his brothers all idolized remarkable athletes and wanted to become just like them. As they got older they realized that all of their stars were on anabolic steroids. This caused his brothers to try steroids to better their performance. Christopher tried them at one point but realized it was wrong. Steroids are known as an illegal drug if not used for medical use. Bad Boys: Movie Review

Compared to the first Bad Boys movie this one for me definitely leaves its predecessor in the shadows after a long waited eight years. Nothing in this film is done in moderation...there's at least one million bullets fired in one scene alone! The degree to which the director Mark Hughes has gone to make this film energetic is certainly obvious from the first scene alone, where a heart pumping ambush on the "kkk" is staged by the TNT. Straight away tension, uncertainty and most importantly entertainment is thrown in to viewer’s faces as the pair Will Smith and Martin Lawrence prepare to put in a memorable comedic feat. The motorway car chase is a merging scene of Matrix Reloaded and Terminator 3 put together, this without fail leaves…

I have always wanted to see this movie, but never had the time to get around to it. There was so much hype going around about it. When I first heard about the movie coming to theaters, it did not sound like a movie I would like. However, when the word got around to me, I knew I just had to check it out. I must say that I am glad I sat down and watched it in its entirety. My first opinion was totally wrong.…

The Force Awakens is a spectacular film from start to finish. It is the Star Wars film we haven’t seen since we were graced with the original trilogy 30 years ago. It is able to capture back the humor, fun, and magic of the original trilogy that weren’t present in the prequels 10 years ago. All four new cast members (Ridley, Boyega, Isaac, and Driver) give phenomenal performances, and truly bring their characters to life on the big screen.…

Joe Morgenstern presents his review in a formalist manner. A formalist film analysis is concerned with elements such as plot structure, mise en scene, camera techniques, editing, and sound. A formalist film analysis that is strictly concerned with narrative elements, however, might ignore most or all of its cinematic techniques to focus on characters, plot development, story structure, motifs, foreshadowing, motivation, and the like (Goodykoontz & Jacobs, 2011). Morgenstern opens his analysis with a description of the opening scene in this film. He compares the thunderous action of the first scene to the thunderous action that is a hallmark of the producing franchise, and furthers that thought by explaining that the director J.J. Abrams, puts “explosive charges in our heads and then sets them off” (Morgenstern, 2006, para. 1).…

The last and very best part of the movie is the props and technology. It seems that Star Wars has more developed props and stage setting than the movie itself. Which is important because the movie is mostly visual anyway. The sound effects are also very well developed. The plot for star wars may not be that great, but seeing Star Wars just for the visual is well worth while.…

    Essay On Terminator

As you may know, the premise of the original movie was a cyborg Terminator, the T-800, is sent back in time to kill Sarah Connor and a human resistance fighter, Kyle Reese, is sent back to protect her. This is also the starting point of Genisys, however this time we get to see the events that take place just before the T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) are sent back to 1984. However once we arrive in that time, things quickly diverge from the first movie. Sarah Connor (Emelia Clarke) is no longer a mild-mannered waitress, but rather a battle-hardened warrior who has been raised up and trained from the age of 9 by another Terminator who had been sent to her past. The…

The first movie changed the way we look at action stars and created a whole new type of hero. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a larger than life action star, is something we had never seen before. This man had dominated the bodybuilding world for over a decade and now burst on to the action scene with more muscles than anyone had ever seen before, it’s as if the man had almost as if a character drawn onto the movie screen into physical perfection. Arnold was a man of few words speaking with a heavy Austrian accent which at times was hard to understand. But with Arnold’s one liners, strong physical presence and urge to crush his enemies, he became a new type of bad ass hero. This new type of action star was completely different then the good looking, average built star with fancy cars and fun gadgets. This was a no frills, no nonsense guy who took what he wanted with a smile.…

Iron Man is a movie that you either really like or not like at all. If you are a comic book fan then you might like this movie because the cartoon in the comic comes to life, showing off his shiny and functional armour, but if you are not, then you might find this movie absolutely boring because it has got lot of science fiction in it .As a lifelong iron man fan, I feel this film did the comic book justice. It is easily the best marvel comic book film to date. Even people who were not previously aware of Tony Stark or fans of him now adore Iron Man because of this fantastic movie.…
