Comparing Logan And The X Man
Logan, the final chapter in Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. This movie was released to mostly positive reviews from critics, fans, and general audiences alike. Many were saying this was the best movie in the X Men franchise yet. Some went even further to say Logan was one of the best superhero movies ever. After 17 years of seeing Wolverine in numerous X Men movies and 2 other Wolverine movies, they finally got it right. As good as Logan is, it still has its critics. Logan isn’t the typical superhero movie affair. It is one of the few superhero movies with the rated R rating and it uses this to full effect; it doesn’t have copious amounts of CGI, nor is it family oriented, and it lacks the large scale, eye candy action that audiences has grown …show more content…
Some people were particularly disturbed by the use of children in the scene where they are being hunted down in the forest. Those people were turned off by the violent, dark, gritty tone of the film. They disliked the adult language and the more mature nature of the film. Many said they felt emotionally exhausted by the film’s somber tone and lack of the optimism. Some felt the rated R rating was used to ineffectively. The movie had plenty of F bombs, violence, and some nudity, but they felt as though it never added any extra meaning or weight to the film. Stephanie Zacharek from Times Entertainment said “The violence in Logan is grisly and overbearing, just in case you’d otherwise failed to get the memo on its tone of unforgiving gloom”. Some felt as though the characters were misused. It’s no spoiler to anyone that this will be Jackman’s last appearance as Wolverine. He, along with others will die in this movie, those people felt that their deaths had little meaning. Many who disliked the film would agree with Stephanie that it is a emotionally draining and hard film to watch, but those who don’t mind the violence and enjoy a more mature film that breaks the superhero mold may end up finding an enjoyable

The “R” rated film has lots and lots of Zombie movie violence. Hordes of humans fall prey to the Zombies and the Zombies are slaughtered by the living, often in great detail and with excellent prosthetic realism. There are sexual references but no actual skin, a departure from the first…

I have an odd relationship with this film, it entertained me from start to finish, and at no point did it drag or feel grueling. Some might chock that up to good pacing, but I’d chock it up to lots and lots of brainless and inconsequential explosions. Let me be honest with you for a second, I secretly enjoy a lot of films because I know they’re bad, but that doesn’t make them any less enjoyable. This film is going to fit nicely into that collection of films I liked more than my brain tells me I should have. A lot of people are going to…

From the movie, an antibody is created to reverse the mutation of genes for the mutants. However, in reality, mutation of genes cannot be reverse like in the movie. Mutation that occur in an individual cannot be reverse because mutation that happen in the chromosomes or genes is irreversible. A chromosome mutation is an unpredictable change that occurs in a chromosome. These changes are most often due to problems that occur during meiosis which is cell division process of gametes or by mutagens such as chemicals and radiation. Chromosome mutations can result in changes in the number of chromosomes in a cell…

People expect mindless action when they watch Fury Road but they end up getting a story about oppressed people pushing back against their oppressors with a feeling of hopefulness despite the setting. Have you seen Joaquin Phoenix? I don't think you have unless you've seen Walk the Line. Along with Reese Witherspoon, as his co-star, this movie is a must-see. This film, in my opinion, was one of the biggest films of 2006. It is a drama and documentary on the life of the singer Johnny Cash. The director, James Mangold, definitely let his skills shine with this picture.…

Just like roller coasters appeal to younger individuals, so does horror movies. King wrote that the older a person gets, the more they become less engaged in horror movies (King 599). This point King made was very logical, but it still does not apply to every older person. Some older people can watch horror movies and be more obsessed than those younger than them. Horrors movies do not just appeal to a certain age group, it more so appeals to certain individuals. These days what drags individuals to horror movies is more so the plot and not so much the amount of blood seen in the trailer for the…

Another important part of an entertaining movie is characterization. A well-developed character has an interesting history or past. For comic book readers, they will already know the histories of the characters, but for non-readers it is important for the moviemakers to “develop” the characters by making the actors say and do different things. In this movie there are many funny moments that help the audience understand the characters. For instance, the characters use their super powers to show their emotions or to…

    Deadpool Movie Analysis

I used National News Core to search movie reviews from newspapers and magazines and read a review of the movie “Deadpool” from the New York Times. The tone is lighthearted and positive. The author describes the movie as “a feverishly eager-to-please comic-book movie about a supervillain who suits up like a superhero” (Dargis). He seemed to appreciate the “winking and rib poking” that is a trademark of the Deadpool story line. While acknowledging the movie's shortcomings, the author casts them in a positive light when he writes, “while the tears salting these scenes may be cynical...they offer a necessary break from the strained patter and violence.” The movie's plot is described in broad strokes without including details that might give…
