Madonna Louise Ciccone, from Bay City, Michigan, was born on August 16, 1958. She is an actress, dancer, songwriter, and singer. While working in France as a Vaudeville Showgirl she fell in love with music. She returned to the United States to pursue a career in music.
Madonna joined her first band, the Breakfast Club, in 1980 first as the drummer then as the lead singer. In 1981, with the help of her manager, Camille Barbone of Gotham Records, Madonna went solo and got her career on track. In 1982 bandmate Stephen Bray helped her write the song “Everybody”.
