Madonna Louise Ciccone Research Paper
Madonna Louise Ciccone, from Bay City, Michigan, was born on August 16, 1958. She is an actress, dancer, songwriter, and singer. While working in France as a Vaudeville Showgirl she fell in love with music. She returned to the United States to pursue a career in music.
Madonna joined her first band, the Breakfast Club, in 1980 first as the drummer then as the lead singer. In 1981, with the help of her manager, Camille Barbone of Gotham Records, Madonna went solo and got her career on track. In 1982 bandmate Stephen Bray helped her write the song “Everybody”. The song helped her score a record deal with Sire Records.” Everybody” hit number one on the dance charts in 1982. Madonna convinced Sire Records to produce the full length album simply titled “Madonna” in 1983. One of the biggest hits from her self-titled album was “Borderline” the song was about the fight against male chauvinism and along with the video it became a career making moment for Madonna. It broke interracial relationship barriers by featuring Madonna with a Latin male. She quickly learned to use controversy, MTV, and sexuality to craft her career and become the Queen of pop.
