Now that I have researched teen activism, I know now many similarities between many teen activists activists and how they work towards their goals. The first similarity I noticed about teen activism when working towards goals is never giving up, and keep on persevering. Malala Yousafzai a young teen activist from Pakistan was still fighting for girls education even after being shot by the Talibans causing the left side of her face to be paralyzed. …show more content…
Another teen activist who never gave up was Alex Libby, a young bullied victim. Instead of sitting around depressed, and hurting himself(such as committing suicide) h stood up against bullying by speaking in interviews, writing blogs, and doing more stuff to prevent bullying all around the world. This reminds me of Iqbal, the young boy. Who stood against child labor. The text states “I would like to what abraham Lincoln did I would like to do it Pakistan.” (Iqbal Masih). This saying of Iqbal shows how he was working hard and never giving up, even if he himself was abandoned. As you can see these amazing teen activists definitely have to persevere and never give up to work towards their successful goals.
Another similarity I've noticed between teen activists when they work towards their goals is that they influence people by spreading/sharing their message.
According to Malala's quote, “One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen, can change the world.” (Malala Yousafzai), Malala shows how much she is influencing people by spreading/sharing her message that simple things can lead to a great education. Not only saying influential quotes spreaded her message, talking in TV shows, interviews, and writing blogs spreaded her message too. Mr.Masih influenced people in a similar way. He spoke in interviews, and mostly schools and classrooms. His main intention was to influence to make others understand the value of a child, and to stop child labor. On the other hand Pulgam had a different story. Bharat Pulgam, a WHS sophomore was an emphatic student who cared to many other students with mental health issues. He created awareness by starting starting a student led group called HEART. He spread his message by using HEART to save many people with mental health issues from suicide. He also influenced many people to help anyone even if it's not your problem. Without a doubt teen activists work towards their goals by spreading their message to influence people as much as they …show more content…
can.
The final similarity I noticed about teen activists as they work towards their great goals to change the world is having a strong support of people.(By the way influencing people by spreading your can create strong support too).
Lou Wagner a teen actor/animal activist is a great example of this. He says “I discovered that saving shelter animals is a click of my mouse or an app on my phone to build a global network of friends and support.” (Lou Wagner). Lou reveals that creating a strong support of people is pretty simple, since there's a lot of social media like Facebook and Instagram. Similarly Pia and Abby - activists with cured diseases used websites and blogs to help share their messages and get a strong support of people. The website they created was called PABS PACKS, A website that donated bags with useful things for hospitalized people. There is even a link for email and other social media of Pia and Abby to create more support so they can have more message. These activists believe that getting a strong support of people helps a lot during working towards a goal because you have more people that can help you, and whenever there's a problem or an issue they're there to support you. Indeed many activists such as Lou and Pia/Abby work towards their goals by maintaining a strong support of
people. Need to add conclusion here…..
