Being familiar with the proper communication skills when speaking to someone else aren’t as common as one may think. Most people’s opinion on how they communicate is right because it works for them, everyone is different. Everyone views things differently because everyone has their own opinion and reasoning behind why their opinion is that specific way. When it comes to males and females and their communication the specific topic automatically gets complicated. While male and female communication seem similar, they are different in several ways, and the differences are important because they demonstrate the varied goals each gender has when communicating.
A communications expert, Simma Lieberman stated, “Women are more relationship-oriented than men and find things in common with others when forming relationships.” When it comes to relationships and communication the track record for males goes to show that they aren’t engaged into the conversation as much as a female is. Females are into their feelings, not avoiding details and making sure everything is talked out whereas males care, but they aren’t into the details and they just want to get down to the point, state facts and fix the problem so they can go move on from that specific problem.
Females make sure they speak their mind completely, they leave nothing out. Males keep it simple and say what’s on their mind but aren’t so time consuming when it comes to talking about something serious. Females tend to consult a girlfriend or mom about something serious before they decide to talk about a certain topic. Making sure that they are clear and make their point, consulting someone is just a way a female reassures themselves of how that future conversation will end up going.
