1. What is Management? Management is the organization and coordination of the activities of a business in order to achieve defined objectives. Management is often included as a factor of production along with machines, materials, and money.

3. What is Globalization? Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology. This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on political systems, on economic development and prosperity, and on human physical well-being in societies around the world.

4. What are the historical approaches to Management? The historical approaches to Management are:
Classical Viewpoint
Scientific Management
Administrative Management
Behavioral Viewpoint
Behavioral Science Approach
Quantitative Viewpoint
Management Science
Operations Management
Human Relations Movement

5. What do Managers do? Managers do the following:
1) Sets objectives. The manager sets goals for the group, and decides what work needs to be done to meet those goals.
2) Organizes. The manager divides the work into manageable activities, and selects people to accomplish the tasks that need to be done.
3) Motivates and communicates. The manager creates a team out of his people, through decisions on pay, placement, promotion, and through his communications with the team. Drucker also referred to this as the “integrating” function of the
