This article clearly defined and described the key six elements of the organisational structure in a school i.e. using job specialization, departmentalization, delegation, and decentralization, span of control, and line and staff positions and how it is essential for operations in school. It also further evaluates the boon and banes of every element as well as highlighting the process/factors to be considered when implementing such elements.
Significance/contribution of the article in relation to your other articles and your topic
The main highlight and contribution to my topic is that it discusses the functional departmentalisation and implementation of it in school. Moreover, it shows example of common divisions used in school, which help me to understand the organizational hierarchy better. The article describes how overall duties are divided using functional departmentalisation and proves that it is widely practiced across schools.
