This is evident in how little air-time these cases are receiving on the news. These two crimes are also either portrayed through either a positive lens or a negative lens, instead of being seen for what they truly are. For example, in literature, partners (especially male) who are extremely controlling of their partner, is seen as sexy because they must really care about that other character. This societal problem enables these crimes to continue because people are expected to like how much their partner cares for them, instead of seeing the wolf in sheep’s clothing.
