Maple Street Chapter 1 Summary
(The light fades down onto all of Maple Street. Mr. Goodman is sitting in a chair reading a book. A lamp is turned on by Mrs. Goodman as she walks into the living room and takes a seat on the sofa.)
Narrator: Maple Street had never been the same since the day the aliens had disturbed peaceful lives with technology that terminated power at will.With the aliens ruling the entire country, the world had one thing to fear; an alien takeover. (Mrs. Goodman now stands up and heads to look at the grandfather clock sitting near the window. Mr. Goodman closes his book as his wife checks the time.)
Mrs. Goodman: It’s almost time Les, we need to get going or you know what will happen.
Goodman: Alright, well we better turn off the lights too.
(The two head towards the door followed by Mrs. goodman turning around to turn off the lamp.)

    In the chapter 25, since America ended the World War II after they dropped the atomic bomb in Japanese continent, America confronted the communist, especially Soviet from 1946 to 1952. Through this confrontation between America and Soviet, the cold war begun around the world. Since the Soviets tried to reinforce opposing goals that were against American vision in Eastern Europe, the Soviets forced pressured Eastern Europe to make communism.
