MARA ESSAY
My name is Nabihah Binti Ahmad Nizam. I am 19 years old. I was born on 9th August 1995 at Pusat Rawatan Islam, Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur. My father, Ahmad Nizam Bin Mohd Nasir work as a Project Manager and my mother, Rosayu Binti Robi is a fulltime housewife. I have five siblings and I am the third child. To see my older sister and brother success in their studies and currently working in the area that they like, inspire me to work hard and achieve my dreams. In primary school, I was chosen to become a prefect because of my good attitude. I am an outspoken person and a good leader. My UPSR result was 4A and 1B and it was a disappointment for my parents. I set goals when I enter secondary school, to be more active and hardworking in academic and co-curiculum. I was active with co-curiculum activities and I have tried my best to balance it with academic. My PMR result is 4A, 2B and 2C. It was a big failure for me, and I applied for MRSM. I was chosen by MARA to sit for an exam to enter MRSM, but I failed the examination. During Form 4 and Form 5, again I spent most of my time in co-curiculum activities. I enter Scout because I saw my dad was an active scout’s member and he gain a lot of experience. My friends and I represent our school for King Scouts 2012 and our school has the highest number of candidates. I took Accounting and Science course for my academic. From the beginning, it was hard for me to understand and maintain my result for Chemistry and Physics. I had no problem with Accounting and Mathematics subject because I always like numbers. In the end, my SPM result is 4A, 2B, 1C and 2E. The good news was I got A+ for my Accounting and A for Mathematics but I didn’t get the chance to enter public university. After SPM, it is important for student to decide which path to go for their future. I choose to study in accountancy and become a professional accountant.     When learning of the devastations of the Holocaust we are often only offered one side of the story, one view of the event, one account of the pain—that of the direct survivor. However, the effects of trauma live on forever, and stay with people even when they are not first-hand victims. In particular, there are children of Holocaust survivors or second-generation survivors whom face enormous difficulties as they come to terms with the horrendous plights faced by their ancestors. For Art Spiegelman, author of Maus, this was the struggle. Growing up with survivor parents exposed him to the presence and absence of the Holocaust in his daily life, causing confusion and great amounts of self-imposed guilt and blame. This havoc led to an underdeveloped identity early on—a lost and prohibited childhood, a murdered one.     Since matriculation days, I have always been regarded as an academically brilliant. I obtained a GPA of 3.88 on the scale of 4.
