Marcel Sandoval Research Paper

Seventeen year old Marcelo Sandoval who was a special needs teenager was able to hear what he called “internal music”. His definition of internal music was being able to hear beautiful melodies and feel the emotion of the song without listening to any actual music. That was his special gift. He took everything he heard, like people having a conversation with him, and internally processed every single word that was spoken. Marcelo was able to define every word, think through what had been spoken, and ask questions when needed. His father did not agree with Marcelo going to Paterson, or for people treating him like there was something wrong with him, but he allowed it to continue. Finally Mr. Sandoval had enough of it all, and decided to have Marcelo work at the law firm with him for the summer. If Marcelo passed all the rules and fit in with what Mr. Sandoval called “the real world”, then for Marcelo’s last school year he could continue attending Paterson. Otherwise Marcelo would be attending Oak Ridge High School for his senior year, if he did not follow the rules. Marcelo agreed to do so, even though he was not excited about working at the law

Once the damage could not be undone, everyone at the firm found out what Marcelo had done, and because of that he ended up going to Oak Ridge High School instead of going back to Paterson.
