“Mary Jane, Weed, Pot, Green, Smoke.” These are all different names and many more for Americas’ number one most natural herb “Marijuana.” In America the government and society make marijuana out to seem like it is the most harmful and bad thing. Well is marijuana really as bad and harmful as society makes it out to be? Since the 1930's marijuana has been illegal in the United States, except for in 19 different states. That being said it's somehow America's number one cash crop, but the government is still trying to keep it illegal. Marijuana is a very positive thing, and it helps with a lot of different medical issues like cancer, anorexia, and for women “PMS.”
Many people have a stereotypical image of marijuana being a bad, dirty and harmful drug, that will make you see things, but that is what children are told in their health class to stay away from drugs, and adults revolve around it too. Over 2000 people die yearly from the toxic effects of Aspirin, which is legal and not a single person has died from the effects of weed, yet the substance has been banned. Legalizing marijuana would make a country cleaner, control pain, and smoking would be a lot safer and in the government restrictions. Legalizing marijuana, is taking one step into making this world a better place to live in.
Marijuana is a gateway drug, and God’s natural grown herb and a lot of people in the United States use this drug for either medical reasons or personal reasons. You can find marijuana really anywhere now, off the street, or you can personally grow it. Around 25 million Americans’ have smoked marijuana in the past year, and 14 million smoke it on a daily basis. Here’s a mind blowing fact. Around 11 of our United States presidents have grown, smoked, or supported the legalization of marijuana, but yet weed is still illegal here in some states.
