Marihuana is legal for medical purposes in Colorado, US, and fully legal in the Netherlands. However, despite cannabis being legal in Holland, only residents can legally buy it, and before doing so, they need to acquire a so-called “weed pass”, which they have to apply for and only is legal for people over the age of 18.

Denmark should making it illegal to sell, provide, and consume marihuana near people under the age of 21. However, as soon an individual becomes legal of age, they can apply for a “weed pass”, similar to the Dutch model, and get the drug, in small amounts, and pharmacies. The atmosphere around legal cannabis should be toleration and moderation.
Every individual in Denmark is free to do as they wish and believe, and their right to do as they wish is only limited, if their actions have consequences for others.
By making marihuana legal in Denmark, the state will be able to tax the weed market, and earn the money for Denmark as a state, instead of the money ending directly in the pockets of the provider of the drug, as it is with illegal marihuana today.
By legalizing marihuana in Denmark, the state will be able to diminish a large part of the illegal smuggling of the drug, and keep the money earned from it, so it can be used for the interests of all Danes. Also, by regulating it with “weed passes” and strict laws for minors, it will become for people under the legal age to obtain it, while people of age can be free to use it without risking criminal
