Marital Disqualification Rule
Camille Cosby and her lawyers tried to get out of her having to give a deposition against her husband, Bill Cosby but according to ABC News, the motion was denied. U.S. District Judge Mark G. Mastroianni ruled that Camille must answer all the questions, unless they are about her marriage with Bill.
The marital disqualification rule will protect her from those questions so she will not have to respond to those types of questions. Camille will not have to answer or give testimony if the questions pertain to private conversations with her husband. Camille’s lawyers told ABC News that they are happy for this small victory. "Critically important decision by the court today, agreeing with Mrs. Cosby's appellate argument, affirming the confidential nature of and protection afforded to marital communications,"

The court concludes that the marital disqualification rule does apply to deposition testimony. Deponent, when appropriate, may refuse to answer deposition questions which call for testimony prohibited by the rule and not falling within an exception.”
“The court will not quash the deposition subpoena and will not issue a formal protective order,” he continued.
“Critically important decision by the Court today,” the comedian’s spokesman, Andrew Wyatt, released in a statement shortly after the ruling, “agreeing with Mrs. Cosby’s appellate argument, affirming the confidential nature of and protection afforded to marital communications.”
Both sides take Judge Mark Mastroianni ruling as a victory in their favor. The lawyers representing the seven women, including Joseph Cammarata and Tamara Green said it was “a great day” for their side.
They believe Camille Cosby is one person who would know the most about Bills affairs. They have been married for 50 years and Camille is his business manager for that many years as
