We do see a downside to this style of parenting though, as mentioned in this article. Some parents who are going by this standard often go without seeing their children for hours at a time. For some, this isn’t a problem but for others the thought of not knowing their child’s whereabouts is a good enough reason to avoid free range parenting in its entirety.
