Martin L. King's Struggle For Freedom
Dr. King was a great man he marched for freedom, he protested peacefully so that the black could vote, and most importantly he had a dream that the nation will rise up to its true meaning. He also had a dream that his 4 kids would not be judged by their color but by their character. He really wanted freedom to ring out all across the world. During the march they mad many mistakes by using violence. Jimmie Lee Jackson was killed in a restaurant. They wanted to have a war with major. Dr. King led a march against Governor. George C. Wallace that included 1/3 whites. Later that night a priest was killed for marching with the blacks. 5months later J.L.B signed the voting rights act of 1965. Martin L. 13 years. Andrew Young was elected Mayor twice. John Lewis served 28 years as Congress Men making laws. George C. Wallace tried to become president for 16 years but failed, and was paralyzed. Jim Clark was never again sheriff. Whites didn’t want blacks to vote because the racist white people would have no job. In the article it states “Dr. King was not perfect, that he committed serial adultery, and that he was, what might be called a sex-addict. The FBI wiretaps of MLK’s extramarital sexual encounters are sealed until 2027. Apparently, when they are revealed they will provide further evidence of a personal flaw in Dr. King. And so, as President Johnson said, in this way he was a hypocrite “{evaluating Leadership} In conclusion Dr. King did all this marching so the blacks would be able to vote. He also went to the President himself just so the blacks could vote. Although he had flaws he still was a great man because he wanted equal treatment for blacks. After King was assassinated his legacy was still carried on into the 21st century. We also celebrate Dr. Kings holiday every January on the 17th day.
