Martin Luther King Jr. was an African American who fought for Civil Rights for “Colored” people of America. Martin was a world changer and he was a hero to many. Martin was an inspirational person that used peaceful protests to gain the rights for African Americans. He had inspired many young African Americans to join the Civil Rights Movement and to help perform peaceful protests such as sit-ins and boycotts. Martin stayed true to himself and persevered to get the one thing that he wanted which was to fulfill his dream.

was both mentally and physically strong. He never gave up when the odds were against him. He knew how to keep himself calm even when he was receiving death threats. A bomb was even thrown onto the porch of Martin’s house and he never got mad or started pointing fingers, he just made a peaceful speech and stated “I want you to love our enemies. Be good to them. This is what we must live by. We must meet hate with love”. (Martin Luther King Jr 7). He had many non-supporters that absolutely hated what he was doing. They disagreed with his teachings and even what he was trying to do which was end segregation.He was even stabbed while just being at a magazine store and he still never stopped what he believed what was right (MLK and The Global Freedom Struggle 8). He went to a police department to get a permit for a pistol but he was quickly denied and with that the police department had contacted local news stations which from then on spread to give Martin bad publicity. The reason why Martin had wanted the weapon for self-defense was because his house was bombed which during the time of the bombing he wasn’t home but his family was(Haskins #2). Martin later on getting a weapon he states “ I was more afraid in Montgomery when I had a gun in my house. When I decided that I couldn’t keep a gun, I came face-to-face with the question of death and I dealt with it. From that point on, I no longer needed a gun nor have been afraid. Had we been distracted by the question of my safety we would have lost moral offensive and sunk to the level of our oppressors” (Martin Luther King 7).
In conclusion Martin Luther King Jr. had done many things to show how he was a world changer. He ended segregation which was very serious and caused many pain for African Americans And Whites during the time. He had gained rights for African Americans which was huge at the time because they barely had any rights at the time. He also was inspirational and had showed how to handle bad situations by using peaceful means.Martin will always be remembered for the things he had accomplished, He is a true world
