An American hero, Martin Luther King, Jr. was an African-American leader, a religious leader, as well as a civil rights leader. His words and his teachings changed the world, and was a catalyst for the civil rights of African Americans. It’s no surprise we celebrate his life and legacy the third Monday during the month of January, as Dr. King epitomizes the merits of self-sacrifice and leadership, despite the odds he was up against. Through his actions, writing, speeches, and teachings, Dr. King’s words and teachings are inspirational, and have a lot to teach us.
