Martin Luther King Jr.: My Hero

My Hero MLK Jr. “I have a DREAM” That’s what my hero said. Martin Luther King Jr. was born into an African American family during a very racist time period where segregation was a key term for the lives of people. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the greatest heroes of all time because of the ways he stood tall against the crowd for what he believes in and what he knew was true. MLK is one of my all time heroes because of the way he took his stand against racism and tried to defeat it. One of the many ways he took a stand against racism was he walked with many civil rights activists and many people who just wanted to stand up for what they believe, During the march from Selma, Alabama to the Capitol, Montgomery, Alabama civil rights activist walked 54 miles to show millions of people they were not going to let anything stand in their way to get segregation abolished. Another stand King made was the Birmingham Campaign in which he and many of his followers and hundreds of people
But if we wouldn’t have had him, today the way we live probably wouldn’t be the same or equal. One of the many ways he helped change the world so we could all live equally was when he provided his leadership during the bus boycott of 1955 where people held strikes and didn’t ride busses until there was no segregation on the busses. One of MLK major points in the history of his life was when he gave his “I Have A Dream” speech. During this speech he told how he has a dream that someday everyone will see the world through true colors and men will all be treated as equal and segregation would be no more, this speech gave hope to millions of people worldwide and is probably one of the most well no speeches to have ever been given. And lastly overall he was one of the main leaders during the African American civil rights movement since he led most of the marches, boycotts, and most things that had to deal with civil
