The qualities of a good leader can be disputed among a variety of different skills and abilities. Such as being honest, being a delegate, the ability to communicate, having confidence, having commitment to what they believe in, and the creativity to solve any problem that comes their way. If a leader lacks any of these qualities he will be unable to move the cause forward thus failing as a leader. Few can possess these qualities and become a great leader. For to be a great leader you must have these qualities and can move people in a way few can. These qualities and more can be shown in one of the world’s greatest leaders Martin Luther King Junior. However, many dispute he was not as great a leader as most perceive. As not everyone who was African American agreed with his nonviolent ways shown in one incident where “one black Virginian had responded to a white bus driver who wanted him to enter his bus by the back door. A massive figure, the man had picked up the driver with one hand and said bluntly: 'Know two things. I can break your neck, and I ain't one of Martin Luther King's non-violent Negroes” (Ling, 2003). This showed that not everyone followed him thus throwing away him as being a great leader because it showed he could not control his movement. This did not completely show that he was a weak leader by no means for there will always be people not willing to show their support or follow a leader. Another reason given that he is not one of the greatest leaders is that he was not the only leader among the civil rights movement. Now while this may be true he was certainly the most influential among his fellow leaders. As he was sent so speak for many important events and advocated peace. In other situations, he and his followers were assaulted for protesting peace. Still he showed true to his values and would not retaliate. He would even advocate for his followers to not retaliate. Even though he was assassinated he died believing that no matter your skin color you should be treated as equals. No matter how you argue the situation is comes down to that King was one of the greatest leaders during the civil rights movement and one of the greatest leaders ever
