Many of my family's legacies are still around on the Eastside of Cleveland like the Pat O’Brien Wine Store, the Cleveland Sight Center, and the Grasselli Bell Tower and Library which are located on the University of John Carroll campus. One of the most successful family members in my family lineage, is Martin Maloney. He is one of the pillars of our family legacy, Martin created and invented many things. One thing that we use today is known as the street light, but Martin actually invented that and called it the Gasoline Burner. Martin was very successful and started the financial and philanthropic legacy that my family has continued through the generations. My family’s requests may seem overwhelming now, but they won’t in a while because you have to take everything one step at a time. I have many fears about continuing the family name and legacy but I think most times that I was created for a big reason and raised the way I have been for a larger purpose. I think to myself what it would be like doing something great and continue a legacy, but I also think about what the outcomes would be if they didn’t turn out the way my family and I hoped for. My family's legacy that was created by my ancestors has put pressure on me but it also has made me work harder because maybe one day I could be like Martin Maloney. This dharma creates pressure, but it drives me and when it becomes to much I conquer some of the pressure by staying calm. I know that if I stay focused, work hard and can make something significant out of my life by following my passions, that in turn will keep our legacy going with the family. While my dharma is still being scripted, my family has taught me that pressure is always in someone’s everyday life, but the person with the pressure can conquer it by following their passion, overcoming hard obstacles, and staying
