Marvel Vs Dc Essay
Marvel edited the trailer in a more story-like clip for the audience to understand the plot. In comparison, DC produced the trailer with detailed character description, actor’s name and combat scenes to attract the audience. Moreover, DC used more on-scene effects than CGI and more special effects than that of Marvel’s trailer. DC had on-scene effects such as the villain tank crashing the party with an on-set explosion. In contrast, Marvel focused more on special effects when the mutants are using their gifted powers. In the scene, when a girl passes through the door next to Wolverine using CGI effects it shows how these two trailers were distinct between one another. Additionally, DC gave the audience a more thorough outlook for the roles of the characters whereas Marvel focused more on story-telling. …show more content…

On the other hand, Marvel illustrated the origins of X-Men by adding subtitles to tell the how these mutants emerged on Earth. Besides all the differences between these two trailers, DC and Marvel the two main superhero studios did made their trailers with some similarities. Both clips used non-diegetic background music to create a courageous mood to the audience. Additionally, both trailers ended with the signs of the movie — Batman and X-Men. These two videos both suggested the same view of using effects and intense action scenes to portray what a super hero film sound

The cinematography within the clips also helped to create an enigma within the trailers through editing, camera shots and angles. The editing was incredibly fast paced, including jump cuts from scene to scene showing a jigsaw of different clips which are not in a linear order therefore causing confusion and an enigma for the audience – this was mainly seen within Let The Right One In. another element of cinematography shown was the use of close up camera shots – close ups are commonly used to show emotion and reactions…

Intolerance on the basis of color, gender, religion, sexual orientation, social status, wealth, and other factors has caused the undue suffering of millions around the world. Even as early as the colonial era, Native Americans have been a prominent target of discrimination; the treatment of the American Indians portrays how modernization can open the door to oppression. Sherman Alexie, a Spokane author, illustrates how past prejudice continues to obstruct his fellow people from attaining success. The underlying theme in Alexie’s writing is his cognizant awareness that intolerance left unchecked makes oppression inevitable. In "The Joy of Reading and Writing: Superman and Me,” he tells the story of how he developed his love of reading, and how he uses his gifts to challenge the boundaries that society has set for…

The primary objective of this essay is to elaborate on the creation of the different special effects in a movie. I chose the movie “The Avengers” to research and report on which is an American superhero fiction movie directed by Joss Whedon. The criterion on which I selected this movie was because it is a recent movie using all the latest techniques of cinematography and graphics. Plus, since it is a superhero fiction, there are a number of scenes, particularly the stunt scenes which need to be executed using features like CGI VFX, green/blue screens and edited using software like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium, Adobe illustrator etc. which have been discussed further in the essay.…

In a favorite cartoon of mine by the name of Calvin & Hobbes, cartoonist Bill Waterson has shown in a few short scenes what almost all kids already believe about school. Whether it is the way things are presented or the general disinterest some children have with formal education, there is a perspective that children have on education which is oftentimes carried right into adulthood. Through use of visual aids, emotional excitement, the experiences we've all had in school and that inner child in all of us, Bill Waterson shows that traditional school is boring, and even the adults know it!…

    Movie Trailers

The excitement that comes with a long-awaited movie trailer is almost as good as watching the movie itself. Over the course of my life, I have been excited over many movie trailers. I clearly recall 8th grader me, back in 2008, when director J. J. Abrams released, what “youtuber” StarBoy1701 commented, “the mother of all teaser trailers” for his upcoming film Star Trek (2009) on his website. This didn’t satisfy me at all. It didn’t show any scenes from the film and made me want a longer trailer even more. Unfortunately for me, and I’m sure many others, it wasn’t until over a year later when a full theatrical trailer was released. I can’t even describe my feelings when the first theatrical trailer released. I can tell you, however, that I watched it so many times that I unintentionally memorized every aspect of the trailer; dialogue, music, sounds, everything. I took in every detail I could and more. I thought for hours about how each scene shown in the trailer connected with each other. And I watched that trailer, and the next theatrical trailer, every day until the film finally came out. And even then, I still watch the trailer from time to time. And each time it gives me goosebumps. As of right now, I am still awaiting a trailer to the sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness (2012), but alas; no luck so far. It’s quite obvious that I’m obsessed with movie trailers.…

Firstly, the trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron made use of the bait and switch ad technique. Bait and switch is an effective advertising technique in which an appealing deal is offered but is then changed when direct inquiries are made, as the item that is offered in the ad may not the actual product (Root III,2016). For example, the trailer deliberately misled the audience by introducing the antagonist, Ultron, as a disproportionately terrifying entity. Besides, music plays a major role in emphasizing dramatic moments in films (Huron, 1989). The song used in the trailer was a slower, more ominous rendition of “I’ve Got No Strings”, a song that was previously featured in the Walt Disney animated film, Pinocchio. Paralleling the message of the song to Ultron, it foreshadows the antagonist’s malevolent intentions in a voiceover; as Ultron is freed from his shackles with a promise to rain chaos on the world as heard in a voiceover. Therefore, music choice is instrumental in setting the mood of trailers.…
