Letting Go

The snow danced down like a cloud had just exploded in the sky, covering a foot of the ground.The frigid air could make you shiver in a second. Ice covered the road like an ice skating ring. Oliver knew he shouldn’t be outside but he just had to get out. He loved the winter and was amazed at God's creation. He slowed down while turning the sharp turn. If someone wasn’t careful they could get into an accident on this turn, Oliver thought. Speeding up a little he saw what he thought was a car in the ditch. Oliver hated accidents, but he had to stop. He pulled over and started walking towards the car. It was a blue car that was in really good condition. He hands were numb by the time he reached the car. He opened the door and saw

“ She’s about my age, 18, and…” Oliver looked down at the very pretty women and tried to see how bad she was injured. “ Her legs are trapped under the wheel,” He peered on the right side of her and was shaken by the blood coming from her head. “Her head is also bleeding. She is breathing but she's unconscious.” Oliver could hear the sirens as they grew louder and louder.

“Okay, thank you. Help is on its way. Thank you for your cooperation and please do not leave the scene, the police would still like to ask you some questions. Thank you for calling in.” The operator hung up and Oliver put his phone away. What a great way to start the new year.

Lindsey woke up to a stabbing feeling in her back. She felt like her head was on fire. She opened her eyes and was confused as to why she was in a hospital. As she tried to sit up, she realized she couldn’t feel her legs. Her heart started racing and her head started to pound. Why was she in a hospital? Why did she ache all over her body? Why couldn’t she feel her legs? As much as she wanted answers to all of these questions, her eyelids felt heavy and she drifted off back into sleep.

The faint voice Lindsey heard grew louder as she aroused from her sleep.
