In the story“ Snow “ by Julia Alvarez , there is a scene about the first year of the author in Catholic school while living in New York . She is in fourth grade with a tolerant teacher , and her name is Zoe . Julia is an immigrant . Learning english is important to her in these early years . Beside learning new words , she picks up some information about Russian missiles , which included new vocabulary words such as : nuclear bomb, bomb shelter and radioactive fallout . One day , she sees snow is falling from the sky . The first thought came to her mind was that these strange object are those things in Zoe’s stories , which were extremely dangerous .

When I was 7 years old , I started to go to my grandparent's city , a countryside city , to visit them while me and my brother were in summer vacation .
