graduated with honors in May 2005. After High School, Holloway had planned to attend the University of Alabama to major in premed. In honor of graduation, Holloway along with her graduated class went on a 5 day long vacation to Aruba. During their stay Holloway, as well as other classmates, spent their time partying accompanied by heavy drinking, Holloway especially. On the last night of their stay in Aruba, Holloway and several friends met Joran van der Sloot and arranged to meet up in a bar known as “Carlos N’ Charlie’s.” Along with more drinking, Natalee left the bar with Van der Sloot along with several of his friends. The last time Natalee Holloway was seen, was with Joran van der Sloot and his friends, the Kalpoe brothers, getting into and Honda at about 1 a.m. She was scheduled for a departing flight on May 30 and when she was nowhere to be found, Aruban authorities were contacted. They have searched the area where Holloway was staying, including neighboring areas.
Joran van der Sloot , Dutch, lived in Aruba with his family and attended the Aruba International School.
Considering van der Sloot was the only person to last see Holloway, he is main suspect for her disappearance. As for van der Sloot, it wouldn’t be the first time he was involved in a crime. Five years later, on May 30, 2010 a young lady, Stephany Flores Ramírez was murdered. Van der Sloot confessed to bludgeoning Ramirez. Ramírez.
A decade later, new evidence has risen. A Dutch citizen, Jurriën de Jong claims he knows where the body of Natalee Holloway lies in a crawl space that belongs to Marriot Hotels in Aruba. On May 30, 2005 the property was under construction where De Jong claimed to see a young man chase after a young woman. De Jong didn’t really pay mind to what he saw, he perceived what he witnessed as goofing around. A few moment later, the two reappeared. The man was carrying the woman’s body which appeared to be still. De Jong said ,“He pulled (the woman) by the ankles inside the crawl space, stayed inside for a minute and then came out and closed the gap.” In an instant, de Jong can to realization the he had just witnessed a serious event. In 2008, Jurriën de Jong was observing the news when an interview with Joran van der Sloot was aired where Sloot had said that Holloway had all of sudden stopped breathing and dumped her body in the ocean. De Jong had recognized van der Sloot from that night and was infuriated because he knew the words that were coming out of van der Sloot`s mouth was complete deception. Jurriën de Jong claims he would’ve went to authorities sooner if he hadn’t been performing illegal activity and was afraid to being punished for his own crime. Later, van der Sloot said the statement made during the interview was not true at all. When de Jong reported to authorities what he had witnessed years ago, prosecutors were very skeptical towards his statement. With not much help at all from authorities, de Jong had contacted Holloway’s father, Dave Holloway and reported what he had witnessed.
With Dave Holloway receiving many false leads, he had ignored de Jong’s claims. With nowhere else to go de Jong went to Aruba and went to the exact spot he claimed Holloway was under, which is now a Spyglass tower property of Marriot, and drill down the buildings foundation. His plan failed due to the fact that Marriot claimed the construction hadn’t yet begun for the Spyglass tower. Thankfully, Marriot claims had been proven inaccurate. According to Dave Hollway, he remembers visiting the exact site on June 1 and there was definitely a construction site. Also, according to Google Earth, a picture was taken not long after the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. In the picture, it appears to be an outline of a construction site. Marriot has contradicted both Holloway’s and de Jong’s statements since the company has not yet begun
construction.
