Mead Hall In Beowulf

The poem Beowulf is a very great poem in my opinion. Beowulf is very interesting in its own way, one thing that really stuck out to me is that it is very action packed but can also have heart felt at moments. I will be discussing a lot about this poem, but not everything because it is a very long poem, in fact it consists of 3,182 lines (Unit 1 Assignment 5). This manuscript dates from the year 1000 AD. Actually Beowulf was written at least 200 years before that time (Unit 1 Assignment 5). In this section I will be writing about, the role of the mead hall, and its significance in the Epic of Beowulf, what role treasure plays in this story, and how gold is felt about by the characters and the scop, and last but not least I will be discussing if Beowulf if the ideal epic hero.
Europe is where the mead-hall actually started out at. It is a gathering spot for the whole populace to come together to just be with one another (Lisa Yarde 1). The significance of the mead is King Hrothgar's warriors actually had wonderful feasts and they also tended to drown out their sorrows and all of their fears but this was not just in any mead but the finest of finest, the kings mead (Lisa Yarde 1).
