The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is a formal organization composed of parents, teachers and staff that is intended to facilitate parental participation in a school. Our PTA works hard to strengthen links between home and school by involving parents in the life of the school and encouraging a two-way exchange of information and viewpoints. The purpose of the PTA is to support the school and students of DLHS. The prime aim of the PTA is to co-ordinate fund-raising and social events for the school community that in turn supports the school by enhancing the pupil’s educational experiences. Last November 19, 2014, a Medical Mission was held at the DLHS quadrangle. This event was a project of PTA which is led by Mrs. Amparo Del Rosario, the president of the Parent –Teacher Association SY 2014-2015. The event was started with a pre-viewing show and registration for the medical check-up then followed by the presentation about the Trevoca. This product is a dietary supplement that may help the students, parents and the school staff to do more in life and have a good health. While the presentation is ongoing, blood pressure monitoring is being managed by the nurses invited by the PTA officers. They also invited doctors just like Dr. Raymundo Carlos (Diabetologist), Dra. Annabel Santos (Orthodontist), Dra. Fely Pascual-Santiago (Orthodontist) and Dra. Grace Alvaran (Pediatrician). After the presentation, the parents gave snacks to the students. They also gave vitamins like Growee and Ceelin. The Enhance face and body spa also gave whitening soap, sulfur soap and acne removal. The Random Blood Sugar Test was also taken where most of the students yelled because of pain and some students asked their parents to remove their names on the registration form so that they can be free from pricking their fingers for blood sugar test.
