What I think about this book:
I liked it but I think it’s kind of hard to put it in so few words. It’s not complicated but it has so much action in

I like how its really intense and calming and also some parts funny. I like how it talks about teen pregnancy because some young teens will want to get pregnant at such a young age and if they read this book it may help them change their mind and wait till they get older, thats very important to me. I really like the chapter where Bobby was talking about the wall when he was trying to get everything back in place and try to see who he really was, i thought that part was really good. I like how it goes back and fourth for the chapters like then and now, it makes you want to read more because in one chapter it tells you really good information and you just want to read even more till the…

Tom’s life is changed drastically when the car crashes. He has dug too deep into what he refers to as the ‘black hole’ and he loses the will to live: “Trying to shut down the bad thoughts that always surfaced and suffocated any hope I had of getting my life back.” (pg.15). He tries to get better by starting running as a way of releasing his stress and worry. Someone who was essential for Tom to move on was Daniel his brother: “‘Do you hate me, Tommy?’…. ‘Daniel.’ I swallowed. ‘You’re my brother.’(pg.141) Although Daniel has done such a horrible thing Tom is not willing to give up on his brother. Another character that helps Tom conquer his past is his Uncle Brendan. Brendan really gets Tom to open up and see the world from another point of view; this causes Tom to start talking: “You were hardly ‘Mr Have-a-Chat’ when you arrived. Now I can’t shut you up.” (pg198) He moved on from his past and found happiness in himself and his life again. He finds himself through his girlfriend Chrissy because when he’s with her all he is, is himself: “When I was with Chrissy I was me again. Simple Tom Brennan - no ties, no debt, no guilt, no bad thoughts. Just me, the way I had always known myself.” (pg.261). Although the road to happiness was hard for Tom, his desire to…

I thought the writer had a really good flow of style and expressed herself really well, especially with the storyline. It was a great story overall, the writer was very graphic with her words and it kind of made me feel like I was there re-living that moment with her. Her style was cool and she built up the story with conflict. The suspense was awesome because she made it feel like it was going to be good from the start to the end, but then I felt the tension when things became dark and muggy. The argumentation was written well and the story ended on a good note. The writer wrote for her people and you could literally…

Armin’s mother drove us to Chili’s, as she normally did because Chili’s was our hang out at the time, and dropped us off at the front door. We were there a little early because Armin did not want his mother to see his girlfriend. Armin did not tell his mother that he had a girlfriend because he did not know how she would respond to it. Armin, Jordan, and I walked in the front door. It was packed as it usually is on a Saturday night. All the tables were filled with people laughing and carrying on. The waitress then walked up to us with a fake cheesy smile…
