Dear Mr. Nelson:
I am writing to you to express my interest in the management trainee position at your distribution center in Shelby, Iowa for Menards. I am interested in a full-time position in supply chain management. I learned about your position from Iowa State’s career website, which is the school I currently attend and will be graduating from this upcoming May.
When I was a Logistics Operator for Hokel Machine Supply, I had plenty of experience with shipping and receiving which is some of the main objectives on your job description. I had to deal a lot with UPS and FedEx directly about the parts we were receiving and shipping out from the store. If something didn’t get shipped right, after I would check our P.O’s and theirs, I would deal with them directly to fix the problem and be able to sometimes get discounts or have the extra products be free for us. While I was there as well we never messed up an order of supplies and I can bring this leadership and communication skills to your company as well. This was a very fun part of my job and is a big reason I am interested in your position.
