Merida is different than other Disney princesses since she like weapons and archery. She is an expert archer and swordswoman unlike many other princesses. She hit the bulls-eye on every target to win her own hand in marriage, and she did the same in practice. She also stopped her dad from almost killing her mom with a sword, making her an adept swordswoman since her dad is the king and he is also an experienced swordsman. When she turned her mom into a bear, her mistake was unnoticed for quite a while, but when she did realize she made the wrong decision, she tries to mend it immediately. She learns from this and during this experience she remembers what her mother has done for her and how she played with her when she was little, which made her softer. Many other Disney princesses emotionally remain the same throughout the movie, and at the end like usual they find a prince to marry. This makes the movie tedious because it has the same endpoint as any other movie. This makes Merida’s life more compelling and different because she doesn’t have the same endpoint as a traditional Disney movie. Merida’s roles are completely diverse than the traditional roles used in other Disney movies since she emotionally changes unlike many other Disney
