Meryl Streep: A Positive Role Model
Meryl Streep is a large part of peoples life all over the world. Meryl is not only an astounding actress, but a wonderful person as a whole. It is unfortunate Academy Awards are not awarded for being a down-to-earth, genuine, person; but if they were, she would have twice the amount she has now. Meryl is a special person and an excellent role model for people of all ages for a number of reasons. some of these reasons include her impeccable acting skills, her down-to-earth personality, and how devoted she is to her family. Streep in unarguably one of the most talented actresses to ever grace the big screen. She is known best for her character versatility and the overwhelming number of awards she has won. It is not by luck that she was awarded two Oscars for best actress in a leading role, and and her one Oscar she was awarded for best actress in a supporting role. Along with the three Oscar wins, she has been nominated for eighteen Oscars, and twenty-eights Golden Globes. She has gone from playing the role of a greedy, man-stealing, sociopath, in Death Becomes Her, to playing a loving, eager, quirky cook in Julie & Julia. Because she delivers her characters with such accuracy, it is hard to imagine anyone else taking her place in the roles she has performed in. …show more content…
Meryl has supported many charities and foundations throughout the years donating several millions of dollars. Some of the charities and foundations she has supported include American Foundation for AIDS Research, Artists for Peace and Justice, Equality Now, Healthy Children Healthy World, Stand Up To Cancer, and The Rainforest Foundation, just to name a few. Along with all of those charities listed, she also donated her entire salary from The Iron Lady to the Women’s History Museum in Washington, DC.
