As a nurse working in the neuro telemetry unit in a hospital setting, I encounter patients from different nationalities, cultures, ages and backgrounds. I do not think of nursing as just following orders and performing patient care, but I see it as a multidisciplinary care. Each patient is different in every way and should be treated and cared for differently. Each person has a certain need and each one should be treated accordingly and we should respect their needs. As a nurse, I look into the whole picture when caring for my patients. I listen to their concerns, I care for them, I advocate them, I show my respect compassion and empathy and I assess their needs. I also value their beliefs, needs and families. We care for our patients’ wellness and provide them emotional support throughout their hospital stay, which makes them appreciate nurses in return. At the end nursing is a spiritual career. All these consist the philosophy and the metaparadigms of nursing that are person, health, environment, nursing including the caring of the
