Team D Week 3 Reflection Summary
Odilis Asilis For Week 3 I have had the opportunity to learn in detail how company’s functions determine the structure of its different departments due to the need of specialized tasks forces to achieve goals within the finance, marketing, sales human resources and other departments that need a specific structure to help achieve the company’s overall goal. I have learned that organizations benefit from these structures because they manage to bring together great people that share similar …show more content…
skills and knowledge that in turn will help to create better success within the organization. On another note I have learned that the different structure of functions would depend on not only the size of the organization but of the services or products it provides. In my past experience I have been fortunate to have worker in large corporations where department functions were specific to achieve a part of the company’s overall goals. Making sure that each team or department gives the best that they can so that achieved success is granted for combined efforts.
Letesia Poole The material discussed in this week’s readings revolved around organizational agility, human resource management, and planning as a management function.
I found the material of this week’s reading to be very interesting because I can apply it to my personal life as well as future professional careers. The chapter that I found to be the most interesting was the most interesting was Chapter 10 because it goes into depth about the job duties and functions of an HR manager or specialist. Learning about all that goes into considering which applicants to choose to how much to pay is very interesting and I never really knew how complex the issue could be. For example, sometimes when I call to check on a job application the HR manager may state that the position will be filled internally (very discouraging to hear); however, now I see that they do so based on a number of reasons.
Pattie Randle
In the previous week I learned how the organization structure affects organizational functions. From what I have learned in the discussions of this class I can use some of these methods in my everyday life, because I work at a large company that holds different positions such as plant managers, plant supervisors, bookkeeping and human resources. I realize that it takes everyone in these positions to work together in order to have a well structure organizational. Organizational structure and organizational functions must work together to have an organized organization. In this week reading I also learned of the different organizational
structures.
Melissa Sugars This week’s reading was interesting to see how the vertical and horizontal structures went hand in hand with each other. Plus the organization chart goes with the structures as well. After reading the material I realized that the chart and structures are seen in my work daily. Most businesses will follow the chart to make their business more organized and functional. There needs to be authority so employees know who is making the choices and who they need to go to for any issues. It is important that all areas within a business work together to be success. IT, marketing and finances will help make everything run smoothly if there is communication and can help each other out.
