Part 1 Essay Question (30 marks)
Question:
1. Carry out a research to identify a multinational company which has operations in more than one country. Examine the type of international staffing policy adopted by the company. What are the pro and cons of the policy adopted? (10 marks)
2. Many countries in Europe, including Norway, France, Spain and the Netherlands, enacted a legislation requiring a certain percentage of the management board members of private companies to be women. Germany is about to follow this act. It is proposed that that by 2016, 30 percent of the non-executive management board seats will be held by women. What are your views on this proposed legal enactment in Germany? Discuss the question in light of equal employment opportunity and workforce diversity. (20 marks) Part 2 Case Analysis (60 marks)
The case distributed to you entitled ‘Rewarding Employees at Data Limited’ was published by LBS in 2012.
Read the case carefully and then answer all the questions below.

3. The immediate issue for Ben Adeleke, Managing Director of Data Limited, is whether or not to pay bonus to employees. Critically evaluate the bonus policy implemented in Data Limited using the expectancy theory of motivation.
