The Little Richard influence is obvious, as his behaviors alone helped pave the way for more eccentric and flamboyant personas and performances in the musical world, and the words eccentric and flamboyant definitely describe Michael. Michael stated that Diana Ross helped him perfect his vocal technique and he also started using the “oooh” interjection which came from Diana Ross. As for James Brown, Michael also said this powerful statement about him, “And when I saw him move, I was mesmerized. I had never seen a performer perform like James Brown, and right then and there I knew that was exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life because of James Brown.” Michael’s main influences were R&B, soul, and pop, but you can hear much more genres of music bleeding through his works such as rock, blues, and…

“How Michael Jackson Made ‘Bad’ written by Joseph Vogel, an author, and popular culture critic, speaks on Michael Jackson Bad era through the media and himself. The media increasingly viciously attacked Michael Jackson through the tabloids labeling him with the term “ Wacko Jacko”. This term derived from “Jacko Macacco” which was the name of a famous monkey which was a popular term in 1950 to describe children toys in Great Britain.
