Michael Jackson was one of the most influential person in the pop music, he was also known as the ‘King of Pop’ all over the world.
Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana. His mother, Katherine Jackson was an adept musician. He grew up with his eight siblings. His dad, Joe Jackson was a former drummer and guitarist and guided him and his siblings to their music career. He was the one who built the foundation of their future success as musicians. Also the tone of his skin changed, it was brighter than it was before. People thought he changed his skin color to make him seem more European. It was also presumed that Jackson bleached his skin just to boost his career. Dr. Halford Fairchild stated Jackson and other African American celebrities would try "to look more like white people in order to get in films and on television". A New York plastic surgeon called Dr. Pamela Lipkin, who has never treated Jackson or reviewed his medical records, said, "when you look at the other features, the skin bleaching sort of goes along with what I think was his quest for beauty, so I have to wonder what came first? Vitiligo or lighter skin?" Noting that Jackson had even skin tone when he was younger, Lipkin's interpretation was that "probably he's trying to look Caucasian: His skin is whiter. His nose is getting thinner every six months. His lips are getting thinner. His eyebrows are getting higher. His eyes are getting wider every time. His cheekbones are getting bigger." Lipkin refers to all the numerous surgeries Michael Jackson had in this time of his life, he completely changed his aspect from day to day. Most of his audience were upset about it, his African fans couldn’t believe the change of his skin. Also Quincy Jones, who worked closely to Jackson couldn’t understand it, but stated that he definitely didn’t want to be black. Jackson was mad at the people that thought he wouldn’t be proud of being black, he said it hurts him to hear those things, and the change of his skin tone was a result of his skin disease called vitiligo, which bleached his color.
