Mike Gerard Tyson, also known as “Iron Mike” was the youngest heavyweight champion of the world in 1986, at the age of 20. Tyson has done some questionable actions in his career and his personal life, making him a great person to discuss about psychologically. His career statistics are not only groundbreaking, but also unbelievable. At the age of 20 he not only had a record of 22-0, but out of his 21 wins he won them by knockout. Now at the age of 50, he is a completely different man. I chose Mike Tyson because even though all of his personal problems and unethical actions, he is one of the greatest fighters of all time and should be recognized for his career. He cannot even remember the man he was 30 years ago; he said his Alter Ego completely took over always wanting more, even after being the champion. Tyson does not even enjoy watching other fights now, he says now he watches tennis because of his kids. Tyson does not even like to discuss his past, just about his new talk show and his kids. Mike Tyson said that the young him “could never have a family like this. That guy would destroy this family. That makes me hate that guy, what he would do to this family. That guy couldn’t handle a family.” The old Tyson said when he fought he genuinely hated his opponent; he cannot fight now because he cannot hate anyone. Tyson also says that it is weird to see old pictures of him fighting, because his past self and present self are two completely different people (Sports Illustrated).
