The Beck Depression Inventory is an assessment that is used to measure the severity of depression. BDI consist of 21 questions that are on a four-point scale. The scale ranges in severity ranging from zero to three. This takes less than ten minutes to complete. There are benefits of using the BDI. One is that it is easy to take and can be taken in a short time. Another benefit is that it is easy to score and interpret. Also, the questions are easy to understand. A limit of the BDI is it may be easy to lie and hide your depression. It also does not take into consideration someone who is going through a situational depression.
