The first character Mibs comes across is Roberta “Bobbi” Meeks, the preacher’s daughter. As a sixteen year old, yet daughter of a preacher, Bobbi’s life isn’t the best. Everyone expects her to be the charming and basically a goody-two-shoes. However, Bobbi is just an ordinary teenager that is caring, kind, and lonely on the inside, but pressure from her society shaped how she acted toward others. This is proven on page 52 as it says, “She’s really lonely you know…”.(Law, 52) Bobbi’s tattoo tells Mibs that inside the teenager, there was always a faint scent of loneliness. Therefore, when Mibs comes across a self-centered, wannabe teenager, she instantly has negatives thoughts. Bobbi also tries to act older and tougher than she actually is, which causes Mibs to have different feelings about her. While her tattoo tells Mibs what she is actually thinking, (all kind thoughts) Mibs does not fully understand her Savvy yet, which leads to confusion within Mibs. Life will always be a mystery, especially for young children like Mibs and myself, and going through different coming-of-age situations will definitely be a challenge.
