Communication is the passing of information from one person to another in forms such as speech, sign language, writing, body language, tone of voice, eye contact and facial expressions.
In order to be able to communicate effectively, we must be able to listen attentively, using empathy to understand the speaker’s experiences, feelings and point of view. In order to develop positive relationships with children, young people, and adults we must demonstrate the ability to be sympathetic, friendly and approachable.
