Argument Essay #1

Computer, phones, internet and latest gadgets such as GPS devices are not anymore unusual thing in our daily life. People start to use those technological inventions as their daily life needs. People’s life style has blend together with technology. Although most of the people think that technology had made out life easier, in my opinion its making us overly dependent on those technologies. Today’s generation is becoming much lazier than the earlier generation. This is because they are too dependent on technologies. Some of them are unable to do things on their own. For example, some people depend on grass-cutting machines to clean their lawn, while they can just do it without it. I guess it’s a way for them to be innovative verses being productive. Another example is, today’s youth generation can’t separate with their mobile phones. They feel like they lost someone in their family if the phone if not in their hand. This clearly shows us how much people depending on technologies. Most of the powerful countries are dependent on their industrial power to stabilize their status. Technology made industrial development to increase rapidly. Industries depend more on machines then human power. This newly unanticipated robotic technology makes human workers to be totally ignored in some factories. Besides that, mobile technology makes our lives even faster. As devices become lighter and more powerful we no longer have to wait until we arrive at our destination. We can do almost anything while on the road. In this fast paced world, people without a laptop or mobile devices are the ones who are left behind on their work. Back in the day, people communicated through letters. But nowadays, some people lose thousands of money if there is no email service for one hour. On the other hand, people say that technology reflects how fast human kind has evolved and civilized. They think

Some people might say that technology is a definite positive development with only positive changes. However, although the technological advance have been and is extremely helpful to everyone around the world, people need to think about how people can be too consumed in the technology that they can isolate themselves from the outside world even. Having fun with technology is normal, but we must not forget how to really communicate without the use of texting or email. Communicating face-to-face should be a key skill humans should never lose. The saying, “having too much of a good thing, can be bad,”…

In this generation, technology and society go hand and hand. Technology and human life cannot be separated in the perspective of various people. Society has grown to have a co-dependence on technology. As stated by Fareed ZakAria in his article “How to Restore the American dream”, “technology is not only affecting society, but its creating a better reality. Everything is able to be achieved through ease” (Zakaria 460). In a broader view, we depend on technology for everything. Each individual in the world today uses this new entity in their daily lives. The use has become too great, that most of the time it’s viewed as a habit. The demand for technology keeps on increasing everyday as we use technology to travel, to communicate, to learn, and to handling business but most importantly, to live in peace and comfort. In the article, “Technology & Society: A Canadian Perspective”, the authors said the following about technology. “Technology and Society, we are told exist in a dynamic reciprocal relationship; they act on, and react to, one another” (Goyder and Aant). Without technology society is able to…

Good morning everyone, the motion that has been put forward today is one on which I guess people have been debating since like a decade now. The moment human beings realized that they could make life easier and simple the human mind with its deep sense of conscience led to the rise of protagonists both in favor and against the usage of technology. The fact is that technology is a tool and nothing more. The history of the world clearly tells the tale of technology, and it's obvious to the most casual observer that the great societies have always been those who took advantage of the technologies of their time. From the earliest of humans who first tamed fire, to contemporary times, the societies who best leveraged technology rose to the top. Did the wheel of ancient Mesopotamia in any way damage the society? How about the use of iron in ancient Greece and Rome? The steam engine, telephone, electric light, airplane? Has any technology ever controlled any society or weakened it? The answer is a loud and resounding NO! Let us return to the motion put forward today “technology has crippled our new generation”, which literally means technology has disabled or weakened our new generation, but I don’t understand why we are even debating on this topic my worthy opposition perhaps has failed to understand that the topic itself is an incentive for us since we today are the most powerful, technologically advanced generation till now and hence the question of us being weakened or damaged doesn’t arise only. Whenever we speak of technology today and its impact on the new generation the so called youngistaan ,we usually associate technology for having brought luxuries into our life and these leading to laziness, health problems, people no longer giving importance to relationships etc etc But let’s just take a moment back and think over it ,if the older generation were such active and so healthy then why were the high death rates and infant mortality rates all around the world so…
