Mockingjay Review Essay
Perfectly suited for the event, this year’s Comic Con international started with a successful preview of “The Hunger Games, Mockingjay 2” last Thursday afternoon.
The Hall H was filled with excited crowd when the presentation commenced. Four people aroused to the stage with their mysterious white outfits, followed by the resounding drum line from the local San Diego high school band. As the drum line agitated, a video started to play. It is the District 13 people, dressed in white suits and acting in sync. Then, a silhouette of a person started to appear and walk towards the stage. It is Katniss wearing a full, armor-like red outfit looking fierce and ready for battle.
“Freedom is worth fighting for. Stand with us.” The video clip said.

Mockingjay 2 main casts Liam Hemsworth, Willow Shields, Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence went to the stage, together with director Francis Lawrence and producer Nina Jacobson.
According to io9, producer Jacobson said that they want to give back to the fans the gratitude for the support by making and emotional and action film that is “satisfying to the core”.
The crowd then gets very enthusiastic when the full trailer started to play. The show off between Katniss and Snow is a huge span of the preview, as we can hear the District 13 people say “Our future starts tomorrow at dawn. We march together into the Capitol.”
Finally, there is the epic battle cry by Katniss: “Turn your weapon to the Capitol! Turn your weapon to Snow!” that earned applause from the audience.
The presentation sums up with a panel interview of the main cast of the movie, giving only very light hints on what to expect in the next film. Protagonist Jennifer Lawrence, on the other hand, expressed the importance of her character, Katniss, to her life and career.
“I don’t think I’ll ever really say goodbye to Katniss, she’s become a part of me,” she said according to Los Angeles Times.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 will kick off in theaters on November 20. Meanwhile, you can watch and enjoy the full trailer

Seeing the first trailer air in November of 2011, many initial thoughts and opinions began to surface on how good this movie was going to be. In the first trailer, the lead, Katniss Everdeen, is faced with extremely difficult situations like being separated from her family, having to fight for her life, and being sent to a place that she had no idea of. But instead of crying throughout every moment and portraying herself as a weak individual she did quite the opposite. She was strong and focused, even for the whole duration of the trailer it is seen how she handles each situation with fearlessness. This is one example on how the transcendentalism idea of non-conformity and self-reliance play part in the movie. She is sure of herself and confidence in her knowledge. Not to mention, the music used for the commercial really enhanced that idea. In the beginning of the commercial, the music was a very soft and suddle instrumental and as she began facing her trials the instrumental would increase in volume and in intensity.…

The crowd draws in a collective breath and then you can hear a pin drop, and there she is. Effie Trinket. She walks onto the stage with her green high heels. She strolls towards the microphone with a big grin across her pale face, clears her throat and begins with the same words she gives every year, “Welcome all of you and Happy Hunger Games.” I have to stop myself from mocking her and turning my head to her next 9 words, “May the odds be ever in your favour.” I think only this morning, I was laughing at Gale’s expression of the pink haired materialistic woman who will escort the 2 tributes to the capital. I study the crowd to find Gale, his eyes already on mine.…
