Monica Lewinsky's Speech Analysis

The life of Monica Lewinsky changes dramatically after having an affair with former President Bill Clinton. Lewinsky, 17 years later describes her story after the affair and explains how one mistake can cause losing her personal reputation and her privacy instantaneously globally. She stated that “life is full of surprises”. Shaming and public humiliation is something no one wants to go through, especially as big as an affair with the President of the United States. I agree with her statements that one’s mistake shouldn’t haunt you for the rest of your life. The public shaming, loss of reputation, and the emotions shouldn’t carry on for the rest of your life. During her speech she identifies many evidence that caused humiliation, for example, the Snapchat hacking, Jennifer Lawrence and many other actors’ private photos being leaked, and Sony Pictures cyber hacking. Many people’s lives changed from that point forward.
In her speech she explains, “Snapchatters use to preserve the lifespan of the messages was hacked, and 100,000 personal conversations, photos, and videos were leaked online to now have a lifespan of forever”. She stated this because one’s someone’s private photos or conversations get leaked, people from the internet has access to it now. Social media is mostly where people with have access to it. That person’s life is now full of embarrassment, humiliation, and their emotions change dramatically.
