Monkey's Paw Speech
The Monkey's Paw
One day in India there lived a tribe of monkeys and on that same day here was a monkey that was born, a boy. All the monkeys were cheering about and having a grand celebration to commemorate the birth of the new boy, But within minutes of his birth he had his right hand chopped off. A scary old man wielding a hatchet collected the paw off the ground.
Since he was a little boy, Sanjay had an obsession of collecting strange items ranging from ancient relics to rocks; he had very few friends and rarely left his secluded world. He had found the old monkey's paw one day while running about the market. There were legends about this particular monkey's paw but Sanjay was skeptical. After looking at the paw for a bit he saw a couple

A princess with plenty of money, who will except that I am of a lower class than her and will love me for me” he thought. Suddenly the monkey’s pinky finger moved.
“Hello” said a female voice. “Oh hello. Excuse me i must say that you are of the most youthful sheer beauty i have ever seen, My name is Sanjay by the way.” “I know, you must come back to my palace” she spoke softly tossing her long black hair.
Sanjay sat in bewilderment “How could she of known my name already?” Sanjay looked down at the monkey's paw and shook his head “This can't be”. Sanjay decided to go along with the girl and to his surprise they fell in love and it went well for a while. The two were soon married, and they had a child. Sanjay missed going out and collecting relics, this wasn’t the real him living in this type of luxury. He wouldn’t mind just roaming around collecting things alone just like in the past, but he couldn’t go back to that at least not right now.
One night at bedtime he said to his wife. “My dear I am of no royalty, I am just a lonely old man” “No you are going to stay with me forever because you said you loved me” said his wife “Well I have changed my mind” Sanjay

The Monkey's Paw by W.W. Jacobs is a story of misfortune. The author uses foreshadowing in the story to build tension, and suspense to keep the reader entertained. W.W. Jacob does this by creating certain plot twists, and pacing the story rapidly but still having lots of detail. This book reminds me of being careful for what I wish for and lessons learned. The story begins with the main character, Mr. White, receiving a monkey's paw from a friend.…

The second most suspenseful story I believe is The Monkey’s Paw. I believe this suspense story deserves the second place title because this story, much like The Tell-Tale Heart, paired fear and horror with the suspense. In The Monkey’s Paw, the author uses the fear of being buried alive, which I think is another interesting way to create dread in your reader, this helps the suspense flow a little smoother, because now your reader is worried and just has to know what happens to the character. I love that this suspense story used classic suspense, the suspense was how you would expect suspense to be; the beginning was a dark and stormy night and the characters were living their normal lives until someone showed up knocking at the door. One of…

“‘I’d like to see those old temples, and fakirs, and jugglers,’ continued Mr. White. ‘What was that about a monkey’s paw or something that you started telling me about the other day, Morris?’”(Jacobs, ln. 41-43). “The Monkey’s Paw” is about a monkey’s paw that grants three wishes to three individual men and how the last man uses his wishes. Between a story and a movie format, there are similarities and differences between the setting, characters, and how suspense is built.…

These two similar short stories have an outrageous background. The first short story we read was called “The Monkeys Paw”, written by W.W. Jacobs. The boy in this family was named “Chaitanya” meaning “consciousness” in English. While Chaitanya was doing his daily chores that day, his mother came over and asked him if he was willing to do an extra chore for her. This chore was washing clothes in the Ganges River. Chaitanya told her that he was happy to do that for her. His mother gave him the clothes that she wanted him to wash and then went straight down to the Ganges River.
