Monologue Lord Of The Flies
Character dossier

The three boys who seemed most in charge left. Ralph, the choir boy and I think Simon. They all seem foolish, laughing and hopping around. How did everyone vote to leave them to the exploring? God, the fair haired child was standing on his head. They are young and witless. I probably being the oldest, 14 years, should be in charge. Whatever, when they fail to provide safety, I’ll be the hero to swoop in and provide comfort. These young naive boys do not understand the real world like I do. I have always been mature for my age even though my small appearance gives me the look of a 12 year old. Someone yelled Niko and I turned to the sound. It is my school friend Will, he is talking to the annoying fat kid with glasses. I am hesitant to walk over, I want nothing to do with Piggy. We had boys like him in our school, and I made them fear me. They were easy prey. I did not even have to lift a finger, my good looks and athletic build scares anyone off. Also I have my crew to do the dirty work. Will is my accomplice in crime, he is the less attractive half of me. He is the brains and I am the looks.

I just gave him a curt nod. My caring appearance allows me to manipulate people and get them to do what I want however, I did not even try with Piggy he is not worth the effort. So I just say, “Come Will we are going to do our own exploring.” I send a sassy half hearted smile to piggy and turn my back with Will on my heels. As we leave the beach scene, people follow my lead and begin to run off in every direction. Piggy’s feeble attempts to calm the energetic nest of infants has no

First of all, the government doesn’t always protect the patriot and defend the patriot the same way the patriot does for the Government. This is evident in numerous moments in American history and it is also shown all throughout the novel,\ “Lord of the Flies”. Simon was a very devoted and efficient member of the island community. He often listens and follows what Ralph and Piggy say. Although, this sense of loyalty and trust that Simon had toward Ralph ultimately lead to his demise. One of the major issues that the community of children had in the island was the constant fear of the beastie, an imaginary monster that lives in the jungle, that cause the “Littluns” to have nightmares. Simon finds out there isn’t a beast, instead it was a dead skydiver. He runs back to inform everyone that there is no beast but his community turns on him and kills him (quote). When the oldest of the community realize what they have done, they covered up his death by dragging his body into the sea and convince the littluns that he was the beast by saying "I expect the beast disguised himself”. Simon died trying to help his community,…

In the beginning of the novel, Lord of the Flies, Piggy is timid. Piggy changes from being timid to being confident to feeling free. Here are some examples of Piggy changing. In chapter one, Piggy felt embarrassed when Ralph told the boys his name. The boys laughed then “for the moment the boys were a closed circuit of sympathy with Piggy outside: he went very pink, bowed his head and cleaned his glasses again” (Goldberg 14). In chapter two, Piggy got enraged because of Jack, Ralph, and the other boys. Piggy said, “Like kids!” he said scornfully. “Acting like a crowd of kids!”(Goldberg 30). In chapter five, Piggy became more confident when he was around Jack by calling him out on something he did not completely agree with. Piggy had said, “I…

Piggy is one of the main characters as well as one of the first characters we, the readers, meet. He is characterized by his glasses, asthma, and a level of decorum that direct decorum that any stereotypical Brit could envy. Within their community, he is seen as the voice of reason(see: direct). This makes his character particularly important as he is surrounded by other boys who would rather treat their crisis as a playground. However, this cynicism, on a deeper level, can be seen as a method of deflecting and a power play. On page 46, he looks upon the others with disdain as they rush up the mountain to start the fire. This separates him from the other boys, in case something goes wrong. And, of course, it does. Towards the end of chapter two, as the mountain is burning, Piggy scolds them for both not thinking, but also(and more importantly) not listening to him in the first place. These actions enable Piggy to pass the blame to everyone else and thus, allowing him to walk away with a free conscience even though their main hope for food just burnt and one of their own might be dead.…

Piggy might have the most useful ideas, but he does not have authority in his voice. Any time he tries to speak the other boys interrupt him. None of the kids ever listen to him because no matter what he says they don’t care. For instance, on page 81 Piggy says “I don’t believe in no ghosts” and Jack responds to him “who cares what you believe fatty!” This proves that no one cares what piggy says or…

Published in 965, Joseph Krutch’s article, Can We Survive the Fun Explosion, exemplifies man’s capacity for evil. Making the specific claim, “when pleasure becomes the summon bonum, the pursuit of happiness may be getting out of hand,” he underlies the idea that every man has evil within them. William Golding makes the same claim in his novel, The Lord of the Flies. To portray this claim, The Lord of The Flies places a group of school children on an abandoned island. As they fail to maintain a civilized order and their innocence, it becomes clear that several of the boys ae capable of evil. Golding uses he literary devices of characterization, diction, and…

I learned a lesson all the way back in first grade, and that lesson has stuck with me ever since. I was coming in from recess, and I was talking to a friend of mine off to my left. Unfortunately, I was not watching where I was going. I kept barely taking glances of what was in front of me, and that was a huge mistake. Someone was running behind me, and wasn’t watching where they were going either. As I approached the building I heard yelling, but thought nothing of it. After all, recess had just finished, so obviously kids would be yelling, right? It turns out some kids had been playing tag, and decided to play until they got inside. One that was still running away, because God forbid he’d be “it,” was Nick.…

I was just walking down Arlington Street with my boys, if you don’t know us we are also called the Arlington Street boys. Until we saw these boys coming off the bus, and I could just tell they were looking for trouble. They were walking with their hands in their pockets and had a mischievous look on their faces. We got into our cars and yelled at them, asking them why they were in this part of town. They yelled at us back and said they were looking for trouble.…
