He went to congress 7 times in a row.
In 1865, the us government took the Monroe doctrine, supported the Mexican president Benito. At the time the doctrine was issued, all Spanish and Portuguese had gained independence. the Doctrine was changing the new and the old world. The doctrine alerted Europeans countries about colonizing or interring with the government of countries. The doctrine mention that the United States would not interfere with countries or colonies. America would only interfere if the western hemisphere tried to start or expand new colonies. James Monroe was the center of the Monroe Doctrine. Monroe was at the position in the military, and was in the military until March 3, 1817, then he got out the military and was our secretary of state. Monroe had a honorable military and government career before he became known as our president of United States.
President Tyler used the doctrine to take control of Texas, a country newspaper that had what would become an big bitter theme throughout Latin America. Secretary William H. Seward did a weird use of the doctrine in
1861 trying to avoid a civil war. Seward tried to use the doctrine to help in the civil war against the seceding states. He felt that Abraham Lincoln would not do a good job in getting the seceding states to return to the union. This doctrine has been used in many governmental issues. It has set many limitation on what could be done by government in the western hemisphere. James Monroe and John Adams only meant for the doctrine to be use to govern and limit the power against the western hemisphere. This doctrine later helped our government to limit powers of some of the other nation. Even though this doctrine was ignored outside the United States. The doctrine was still used to intervene in matters concerning Latin America. In 1904 President Roosevelt will later add Roosevelt Corollary to this doctrine trying to help with the Latin America foreign policy. These issues were to avoid any trade interference by the British.
This paper will show all the effects that the Monroe doctrine had on illegal expansion into the Western Hemisphere. America was trying to be a force in foreign affairs to protect illegal colonization. The doctrine later will be used to help aid in some legal foreign affairs matters. The bases of the doctrine can be used in other foreign affairs. America wanted to send a strong message with the doctrine. Over the last 100 years many presidents have used the doctrine from John F. Kennedy during the cold war. Ronald Reagan in 1982 and Helped with George Bush invasion of Panama. The doctrine was declared dead in 2013 although the American government wants to keep the message of the doctrine but do away with the policies of the doctrine. Therefore many that deal with America's foreign policy probably won't reference the doctrine today.
