INTRO: Who likes superheroes? Who’s your favorite? Superman was always my Favorite. I mean he was the man of steel! Super strength, everyone loved him, never hurt or tired etc etc. But more importantly was what superman was as a symbol and person and that’s why I liked him so much.
Overview: Well tonight im going to tell you why my Dad was the most influential person in my life and my real life Superman. Just like Superman kept people safe and on the right path, my Dad has always done that for me.
Body: So first let me tell you a little bit about my dad……..
MP1-History: My Dad like me grew up as a “military brat” with his father being in the Navy. He lived overseas a great deal of his youth traveling around even graduated high school in Japan. My grandfather eventually retired and they ended up moving to Napa Valley, California. My Dad overcome much adversity early in his life as he had to deal with being an American in a foreign land, living a very hectic life and having an alcoholic father. So like most of us………… my Dad bypassed college and enlisted in the Air Force as soon as he could too in his own words “Pursue a better life and career, Because as we all know the Air Force is better than the Navy”
Transition……..So away he flew over seas to start his new life in Germany.
MP2-A Hero in Action: Fast forward January 31, 1983, Here comes Kyle in to the open Arms of who else but my Dad. So another PCS and two more kids later there’s my father a “buck sergeant” with four kids
