CNMT 410 was an interesting class to learn about the professional workplace. The discussions on time stealing interested me the most since I had no idea what some employers consider stealing time. Besides the discussions I learned a lot about producing quality work. Before this class my resume and cover letter would’ve been a joke. Most likely I would’ve taken a generic resume from Google. The resume wouldn’t have been very personal or showcase my experience. There would have been the exact same problem with the cover letter. I had no idea before this class that the cover letter was meant to be a personal letter from myself to the hiring manager. I always thought cover letters were more or less optional and just a generic short essay on who I was as a person. The quality of my work increased tenfold just from…

-I believe that it would be a great bumper sticker because wearing a seatbelt is something that is very important to do while driving. Most times people forget or simply hate wearing them because they feel uncomfortable. But a simple reminder of this would help many people avoid any disastrous situation. By wearing a seat belt a person can avoid getting a ticket. It could also lessen the force that could be applied to you if you were to have an accident while on the road. Wearing a seatbelt is something that is always found on a written test exam for getting your license. These are the reasons why I believe that a “KEEP CALM and FASTEN YOUR SEATBELT!” would be a great bumper sticker to have.…

What is revision? According to Nancy Sommers she believes students “understand the revision process as a rewording activity” while adult writers or more experienced writers “seek to discover (to create) meaning in the engagement with their writing ...”. I am in agreement with Sommers argument of the student writer's understanding of the revision process. I have struggled with writing my entire life and I now understand why.…

Repetition and revision. Repetition, it could be repeating a line over and over to set a mood, and rhythm. We could repeat a theme throughout a play in different format to get your point across. We can repeat for humor, ideally the comedy rule is that you repeat something three times, any more than that and it’s not funny anymore. Repetition could also have a negative effect on an audience if it’s an actor who annoyingly repeats the same sound or mannerism. Or it could be the director’s intention to annoy the audience, and he/she uses repetition to do that. But, in her essay Susan-Lori Parks used the term “Repetition and Revision.” Suzan-Lori Parks is a lover of music. Her “Repetition and Revision” concept is taken from the Jazz esthetic, where…

I really enjoyed reading all the articles for this module because it gave me a new perspective and lens of viewing marriage and family therapy. I felt that I could relate to the first article that discussed ethical perspectives inside of a classroom setting. I believe that this article illustrated the way in which students have personal and professional value conflicts, which leads to figuring out how to solve these dilemmas. Also, while reading these articles I found these new perspectives to be very interesting and they made me think of the specific and unique challenges that marriage and family therapists have to deal with. When reading these articles I realized that marriage and family therapists have more challenges and concerns to deal with and process compared to individual therapist, such as dual relationships with family and/or group clients. Another big issue that can play a big part of family therapy is disclosure of family secrets, specifically if a minor disclosures these secrets in session.…

This week has helped me in comparing various market structures and their characteristic, along with evaluating the effectiveness of competitive strategies within market structures. Furthermore, this week has helped me in determining profit-maximizing strategies based on market structure analysis. Some of the most interesting things learned were the examples of monopolistically, oligopoly and monopoly. Keeping the concepts of Monopoly, oligopoly and perfect competition straight has proven to be a real challenge. The amount of information presented is overwhelming at times. I had to step back and reread several sections repeatedly to ensure a clear understanding. The side-by-side comparisons of market structure was very helpful and presented in a manner that was clear and concise, promoting a better understanding of their differences.…
